UK CHECKOUT COMPLIANCE — EARLY ACCESS
DMCC ACT 2024 · DRIP PRICING

The £3 fee that cost a driving school £4.2m.

The DMCC Act says your headline price has to be the whole price. DripAnalyser walks your checkout the way a customer does and tells you, in plain English, where yours doesn't agree.

EXAMPLE CHECKOUT — ILLUSTRATIVE

Standard lesson package £42.00
Total shown — step 1 of 3 £42.00
customer picks a time, enters their details
Booking fee (mandatory) £3.00
Total charged £45.00

↳ This fee was never shown until now. This exact pattern got a UK driving school fined £4.2m.

THIS ALREADY HAPPENED

Not a hypothetical. A fine, issued this year.

THE RULE

Under the DMCC Act, the total price — including every mandatory fee — has to be shown at the first invitation to purchase. Not the second screen. Not checkout. The first one.

This has been an automatically unfair commercial practice since 6 April 2025 — the CMA doesn't need to show it changed anyone's mind, only that it happened. Fines reach the greater of £300,000 or 10% of global turnover.

WHAT DRIPANALYSER CHECKS

Four ways a checkout quietly drips.

01

Total-price consistency

Does the price shown on your product or category page match what the customer actually pays — or does it climb between there and payment?

02

Pre-ticked extras

Insurance, warranties, "priority" options — if a paid add-on is selected by default, it isn't a genuinely optional charge.

03

Drip timing

Does a mandatory fee only appear after the customer has already chosen a product, a date, or entered their details? That's the exact pattern the CMA fined.

04

Partitioned pricing

Showing "£42 + £3 booking fee" as a breakdown, without ever adding them into one total, doesn't satisfy the rule either.

HOW IT WORKS

We shop your own store, so you don't have to.

01

Point us at your store

No password, no account access — just your public storefront URL, Shopify or WooCommerce.

02

We walk the checkout

A script adds items to basket and proceeds to checkout like a real shopper, recording every price shown at every step.

03

You get a plain-English report

Every finding comes with a screenshot, the step it happened at, and what to fix — no legal jargon.

EARLY ACCESS

Be first in line.

There's no crawler running yet — we're checking whether this is worth building before we build it. Join now and we'll run your first scan free the moment it's ready.

QUESTIONS
Is this legal advice?

No. DripAnalyser is a documentation and scanning tool — it flags patterns the CMA has identified as risky and shows you the evidence. Only a solicitor can tell you whether your specific checkout is compliant.

What will it cost?

Plans are expected to start around £19/month, scaled by how many products we scan. Early-access signups get first access and a say in the pricing before it's locked in.

Do I need to give you access to my store?

No account or password for the free scan — we crawl your storefront the same way a customer would, starting from your public store URL.

When can I actually run a scan?

We're validating demand before building the crawler. Join the early-access list and you'll be first in line, with a free scan, the moment it's ready.
